The words no one has said before

I held him in my arms that day
For the first time 

We were sharing the bed together
For the first time

I looked into his eyes
I could see the love

The wonder, the awe
The fright, the joy

I waited  for him to say the words
That I was longing to hear

For a very long time
The words that no one else had said before

But his eyes seemed to say
Wait for some time more

I waited and waited
But he just looked at me 

And the look in his eyes seemed to say
Wait for some time more

We spent many a night together
I would hold him tight to my bosom 

Waiting to hear those words
That no one said to me before

But his eyes seemed to say
Wait for some time more

He slept in my bed every night
Could not stay a night without me 

I was his life, his world
His eyes would always follow me

I waited for many months more
Waited to hear those words 

That no one said to me before

But his eyes seemed to say 

Wait for some time more

And then came the day

When I heard him say
The words that no one said to me before

He said 'Mummy, Mummy'

At last I heard the  words

At last I heard him say it
At last he called me 'Mummy'

The words that no one said to me before

This is for my first born, my son Mayur
